We left home on Wednesday 1/8, 7 AM and STOP!!! “Linda, people do not want to hear an hour by hour itinerary of your travels.”

Okay then, we’re here in Christchurch, on the south island of New Zealand. We postponed a day of our life, but we’ll get it back in March when we return home. By this I mean by traveling through several time zones, Friday just disappeared.

On the flight from Baltimore to LA, I had a nice chat with a woman who was traveling to California for her granddaughter’s birthday. We had a lot of life philosophies in common until she said that she was hoping Trump would straighten things out. Hal patted me gently on the arm to calm me down. I told her that I was not in favor of Trump and what was interesting was that because we’d built a rapport, she accepted that.

Some highlights of our trip:

After age 75 you don’t have to take off your shoes at the airport.

In the long line to check in for our flight to NZ, the young man in front of us had pants that kept sliding down to expose his underwear and he was flossing his teeth.

The television in our hotel room displayed this message: Good evening Linda, time to relax.

Food and drink was ridiculously expensive at our LA hotel.

All forms of alcohol is free on Air New Zealand.

More about Christchurch in the next post!

Glad you have made the long trip to NZ. Are you jet lagged?
